Dan Loton

Dr Dan Loton is a researcher based within the Connected Learning Department at Victoria University, and also an honorary fellow of the Centre for Positive Psychology at The University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education, where he recently completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship. Dan specialises in the fields of positive psychology and positive education, with his most recent publications examining strengths based parenting styles and their associated benefits in children and teens. In addition, Dan is an expert in video game addiction with his PhD and subsequent publications investigating the phenomenon of Internet Gaming Disorder and correlates with health and functioning. With colleagues at Melbourne, Dan has also investigated the relationships between screen time and complex models of wellbeing, and longitudinal influences on subjective wellbeing. Dan is particularly interested in the role of technology, and education systems, in supporting wellbeing.
