Welcome!

My name is Andrew Soren, and along with my co-chairs Tayyab Rashid and Roy Baumeister, we are thrilled to invite you to participate in IPPA’s 8th World Congress on Positive Psychology, taking place in Vancouver, Canada from 20 to 23 July, 2023.

It has been a long few years since we have had the opportunity to come together in person as a community. Indeed, this World Congress is all about coming together,

  • to advance the science and research-based applications of positive psychology;

  • to foster collaboration between researchers, teachers, students and practitioners; and

  • to share the findings of our field with the broadest audience.

While IPPA’s virtual events helped us expand our reach across the globe, we could not be more excited to reconvene in one of the most awe-inspiring cities on the planet.

Vancouver rises out of the ocean and is seemingly built from and into the forests and mountains that surround it. Its unparalleled beauty enriches life just by being there. There’s no venue more perfect to welcome more than 1,600 optimistic, generous, highly skilled, rigorously trained students of human flourishing.

In addition to bringing you the latest innovations from leading experts in the science, practice, and education of positive psychology and the broader field of wellbeing, it is our goal that the very experience of this World Congress be designed from the principles we study. We know this will be a very special World Congress. But only if you are there with us.

After all, if there’s one thing we can say with confidence after years of research and practice in this field: we are better together.

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver!

Andrew Soren
Co-Chair, IPPA World Congress on Positive Psychology

To our positive psychology friends and enthusiasts around the world,

We are back and coming together. It is exciting to think that we will be coming together yet again in-person to meet with our friends, old and new; to laugh and to learn, and grow together, and to hear from so many leaders in the field (plus up-and-comers, too).

And of course, by coming together, we flourish...together. So, here's the big news!

The International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) is proud to be hosting the 8th IPPA World Congress next year, in Vancouver, BC (Canada) from 20-23 of July, 2023, and we can not wait for you to be there with us, in-person. This event is not to be missed.

We expect to welcome more than 1,600 people from over 50 countries around the world, and we want you to be there with us...in-person. You'll be in great company and will have an opportunity to mingle with and learn from peers and colleagues plus so many top professors and researchers, clinicians, practitioners, business and HR leaders, and other professionals, plus wellbeing and executive coaches, teachers, students, and so many more.

We've got so many people to thank for helping us to prepare for what lies ahead at the 8th IPPA World Congress in Vancouver. Thank you to Michael Steger for sharing a vision that is second-to-none for our event. Thank you to our committee leaders: Andrew Soren, Meike Bartels, Roy Baumeister, Tayyab Rashid, and James Pawelski. Thank you to IPPA Board of Director members, our Council of Advisor members, our review committees, and the volunteers that will make this program so inviting... to help us all come together.

Our committees are working hard and we expect hundreds of sessions that appeal to all disciplines and areas of positive psychology and related fields. We will have presentations, speeches, panels, discussions, Ignite sessions, posters, and so much more.

Our aim is to deliver a program with simultaneous sessions from more than 400 leading presenters, futurists, thought leaders and people making great impact. It's an event not to be missed. So, join us in Vancouver, BC (Canada) from 20-23 July, in 2023, and come together with all of us post-pandemic for a mind-expanding experience.

And while you're in Vancouver, make sure to plan a trip out of it. Discover why Vancouver is considered, "Where Extraordinary is Everywhere." When you're there with us, you will see why Vancouver is considered a modern, glittering city that seems built into and built up from, some of the most awe-inspiring natural landscapes on the planet. It is a gathering place for people of many backgrounds where the ocean, forest and mountains converge -- and that's why we hope you'll join us. So mark your calendars and REGISTER TODAY!

If you have questions, contact our World Congress team at info@ippaworldcongress.org or reach our member support team at info@ippanetwork.org. Come together with us in '23.

See you in Vancouver at the 8th IPPA World Congress on Positive Psychology (July 20-23 2023)!
