FOREST: Community-based implementation of positive emotion regulation skills to enhance resilience among gun violence prevention staff in Chicago

Elizabeth Addington, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a licensed clinical psychologist in the Supportive Oncology program at Northwestern’s Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research focuses on improving people's ability to manage chronic stress and illness, increase their positive psychosocial experiences, and improve their physical health and quality of life through integrative health and positive psychological interventions. In addition to conducting randomized controlled efficacy trials, Dr. Addington uses mixed-methods and stakeholder-engaged approaches to tailor interventions to the specific needs of different populations, delivery formats and settings.
