Peter Malinowski

Peter Malinowski is a Reader in Cognitive Neuroscience at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He is the co-director of its Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour and developed and leads the Masters programme in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing. Peter developed an adapted version of the mindfulness-based strengths practice programme, which constitutes the experiential backbone of this Masters programme. His research focuses on mechanisms and effects of meditation practice, ranging from meditation novices to meditation virtuosos with decades of experience. In addition, he studies the potential of using mindfulness-based programmes as preventative and treatment approaches. His meditation research group uses a broad range of methodologies, including neuroscientific tools such as EEG, psychophysiological measurements, experimental studies, and randomised controlled trials. Peter has written several books about meditation and mindfulness and its intersection with Positive Psychology (in German), has a long list of scientific publications, is a mindfulness-based strengths practice trainer and a sought-after meditation and mindfulness instructor.
